Tomorrow! Pentecost Pilgrimage
TOMORROW is Greenwood Fellowship’s third pilgrimage.
Brothers and sisters, Australians in NSW, join us by reaching out here, scott@greenwood.media and on X.com/scottmannion
We must, especially in today’s abstracted epoch of the ungrounded and unreal world concept, be active in true spiritual remembrance of Christ’s Ascension, and Pentecost; we truly encounter a living spiritual world when we actively participate in liturgical life (especially once we’ve dedicated ourselves to a daily morning hour of Hesychastic Prayer). We must, in short, fill ourselves with Reality and be purified of semblance.
As we approach Pentecost join us (meeting at Malgoa Village) as we hike just outside Malgoa to the west, in the country (western Sydney), to the Shrine of St. Mary, and then participate in bringing Christ to remembrance as we cherish and celebrate His Ascension, and the descent of the Holy Spirit in Pentecost, venerating the Icons and reading Pentecost material from the Canon in preparation for the coming of the Holy Spirit in us (as a mystic fact of experience, or ‘Empirical Theology’ as Saint Sophrony calls it)
Each year the seasons and stages of Christ’s life penetrate as a living reality into Man’s being and world—if only he can transform himself to hear and see them (or rather, prepare himself to be transformed).
The pilgrimage will be broadcast live for those who are disabled and unable to join in person in Australia, NSW.
Send me a message at scott@greenwood.media or x.com/scottmannion if you would like to join us. I will fill you in on all the details.
This coming Christmas we will be on doing our final pilgrimage of the year in Scotland and England, visiting the tomb of Hesychast Saint Sophrony of Essex, and the Holy island of Iona, among other sites. Feel free to reach out to me if Europeans would like to join us (and if you want to travel out from abroad, costs will be around 4-3000 USD).
God bless you, and I hope to see you this Friday.
